Host

Steve Truitt is known to television audiences as a Los Angeles news anchor and host of such science and technology shows as Discovery Channel's Cool Stuff: How It Works and Nat Geo's The Human Edge. Star Trek fans may recognize Steve from his one line in "Enterprise", Season 3, Episode 21 which he was rightfully awarded after begging the casting director for 5 years to appear on any Trek show.

An avid space enthusiast, NASA historian and memorabilia collector, Steve has been involved in space initiatives for almost 30 years. He has met five of the twelve original moonwakers, flown in a shuttle simulator with NASA astronauts, and served as the go-to space and technology reporter for KNBC-TV during the last of the shuttle missions. He is also a member of the National Space Society and the Planetary Society, and contributes regularly to private space ventures.

Currently the co-host of Energize! A Star Trek Podcast, Steve breaks down weekly episodes of Star Trek's TV series, providing deep insight and historical analysis of the shows with co-host Anthony McLemore.

Past radio broadcasting credits include his work with KNX, KABC and Metro Networks where he was the recipient of a Meritorious Service Acknowledgement for his work in reporting the Los Angeles riots, and L.A. RideShare's Traffic Reporter of the Year award. His producing credits include the documentary "Born Schizophrenic," for which he and his team won a Golden Eagle award for best documentary.

Steve is also the author of the upcoming Sci Fi novel series, The MindSet Chronicles. With action, suspense and thought provoking themes, MindSet explores the potential benefits and dangers of a post-AI, mind-connected society. The first book, The Deletion, drops March, 2023. His writing style can best be described as a mix of Tom Clancy and Carl Sagan.

Steve lives in Los Angeles with his wife and four daughters.
